The Black & White Drawings (1974 - 1976) are among the earliest works in Sudi's career, made with pen, ink, and touches of color on paper. In these densely populated compositions, entire worlds unfold within the space of a single sheet: cities, crowds, creatures, and memories interlock like pieces of a dream.

Each drawing is built from thousands of meticulous marks, where the figure of the individual is never separate from the architecture, history, and imagination that surround it. New York appears as a living organism, history as something that can be touched, and everyday moments, such as waiting for laundry, become meditations on time and existence. These works reveal the foundations of the visual language Sudi would carry into her paintings and sculptures for decades to come.
